A Type 2 charging cable is a precision electrical component. Store it coiled loosely — tight coiling stresses the internal wiring at the kink points over time. Keep the connector ends clean and dry; a small zip bag in the boot works well for the ends you're not using. Inspect the cable before every use for cuts, fraying, or cracked insulation. Replace a damaged cable immediately — using a damaged high-current cable is a genuine fire risk. If you charge outdoors regularly, ensure the cable is rated IP55 or higher, and keep the connector ends protected when not in use.
