Tesla Accessories for the First 30 Days — A New Owner's Checklist

New Tesla Owner Accessories Checklist Australia 2026

Taking delivery of a new Tesla is exciting — and within the first few drives, you'll notice exactly what the interior needs. This checklist is based on what Tes Accessories customers most commonly order in their first month of ownership, ordered by priority.

Day 1 — Before You Drive Home

These two should ideally be ordered before your delivery date so they arrive the same day or day after.

  • All-weather floor mats — carpet damage starts on the first muddy day. For Model 3 Highland owners: Highland 8-piece TPE mat set. For Model Y: check Juniper vs pre-Juniper fitment.
  • Sun shade (windshield) — if it's summer in your state, this is essential. One hot week of no shade can cause dashboard UV bleaching.

Week 1 — First Trips Done, Now the Details

  • Armrest protector — you'll notice the lid getting handled constantly. The Highland armrest protector adds PU leatherette protection tool-free.
  • Cup holder insert — smaller cans will rattle in the first week. Drop-in fix: Highland cup holder insert.
  • Phone mount or wireless pad — Tesla's console is open, not a phone tray. Decide whether you want a vent mount or console wireless pad. Read our phone mount guide.

Week 2 — Organisation

  • Console storage organiser — once you start daily driving, an open console tray gets messy fast. The Highland front storage box fixes this with defined compartments.
  • Armrest privacy box — if you carry valuables in the centre console, a flocked privacy box keeps them out of sight.
  • Mud flaps — if you've driven on gravel or noticed stone spray on the front bumper, add no-drill mud flaps now before chips appear.

Week 3–4 — Boot and Exterior

  • Boot organiser — once you've done a few shopping trips, the boot situation becomes obvious. Side storage for Model 3 Highland: trunk side storage.
  • Screen protector — the touchscreen is the most-touched surface in the car. A tempered glass protector prevents micro-scratches from rings and fingernails. Read the screen protector guide.

Skip the First Month

Spoilers, tow bars, and aftermarket wheels are significant upgrades — worth researching thoroughly before buying. Focus on protection and organisation first, then aesthetics when you know your preferences.

For Model 3 Highland owners, the Tesla Model 3 Must Have Bundle covers the first 30 days in one order — 7 Highland-specific accessories for $430. Browse the full Model 3 Highland range →
